Former AMTA National Presidents Make Presentation to Oklahoma Conference of Physicians
Former National Presidents Jeff Smoot and Nancy M. Porambo represented the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) at the annual meeting of the Oklahoma Chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP).
Their presentation, “Massage is Good Medicine”, addressing the current research on massage therapy and patient centered care as well as the role of the health care provider in recommending massage therapy to patients received a very favorable response from a group of physicians, which was reinforced by interactions in the convention exhibit hall.
Members of the AMTA Oklahoma Chapter provided on-site chair massage in the exhibit hall and discussed the value of massage therapy for pain.
