AMTA 2017 Summer Massage Therapy Scholarship Recipient
The American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) is excited to congratulate Maddie Harrison of Aveda Institute in Minneapolis, the recipient of the AMTA 2017 Summer Scholarship!
Maddie’s goal is to use massage to help survivors of sexual violence find healing. She believes massage can help release some of the emotional trauma that survivors carry over into their bodies.
Upon graduation, she plans to get training in trauma-informed care and to work in a massage clinic to advance her knowledge as a massage therapist.
She would like to eventually own her own practice and specifically focus on helping survivors of sexual violence find healing, plus make massage accessible to those who need it most.
