Ellen LaRocca is a licensed massage therapist and a certified hypnotist and an aromatherapy professional. She has been practicing massage and health related therapies for more than 30 years. She has studied with some of the best forward thinking instructors and luminaries in the USA. Her focus being on the therapeutic end of body work with emphasis on Neuromuscular Therapy (Paul St. John) and CranioSacral Therapy (John Upledger).  She was active in the move to have massage therapists licensed in Louisiana, raising the awareness of the professional status of massage.

Ellen opened as The Body Works Center ( Body Works Massage & Wellness Center) 20 years ago, where she offers therapeutic massage (integrating many modalities of massage), aromatherapy, meditation classes, wellness lectures, hypnosis, and is a resource for Macrobiotics and Ayurvedics.

Ellen has been practicing and teaching meditation since the late seventies.  She studied Macrobiotics at the Kushi Institute, with Michio and Aveline Kushi and other outstanding teachers.  She has also studied meditation at a higher level under Dr. Deepak Chopra and Dr. David Simon, who became major teachers of spirit, meditation and body health during the 90’s. Ellen became certified as a Primordial Sound Meditation instructor in 1996.  She currently leads meditation at St. Tammany Parish Hospital for cancer patients and their families.

Ellen’s retreats (Rejuvenation of Self) are four-day retreats teaching healthful strategies in daily living.  She teaches food choices according to body types and hands-on cooking classes, meditation, aromatherapy, labyrinth, self expression through art projects, interactive discussions with the participants, yoga, qigong and massage for each participant.

Her passion for her chosen field in Massage, Meditation, Macrobiotics and Ayurvedics has given her opportunities for self growth and happiness, as she is able to pass on whatever she has gleaned from her cadre of selfless teachers and clients, to others.
